Animal decor usually arrives either sweet enough for a nursery or serious enough for a study, with nothing in between. The giraffe stands 9.3 in (23.5 cm), about the height of an electric kettle, and the zebra is a shade shorter at 9 in (23 cm) but broader across the shoulder. Stems add their own height on top, so measure the shelf above before you fill one with eucalyptus.

The opening sits in the top of the head, which means the arrangement is the mane and the animal is the vase. A few short stems keep the face readable. A full bouquet turns the whole thing into a green mound with legs, and the gum bubble, which is the joke, disappears behind a leaf.
For fresh flowers, stand a small jar inside and change the water in that. Dried stems and faux greenery need none of that and suit the shape better anyway.
