Ceramic with an iridescent pearl finish and a gold wing where the handle should be. The wing is the design, and it also means the cup takes more room on a saucer than the bowl alone suggests.

Size

The cup is about as wide across as a baseball, so plan on an espresso or a short cortado. Two of them sit side by side on a small tray with the wings turned outward, which is the only way they fit.

Care

Hand wash it. Gold detail wears off in a dishwasher cycle, and metallic trim keeps a cup out of the microwave permanently.

Good to know

The wing sits where a loop handle would, so you pinch it rather than hook a finger through it. It looks better than it grips, and that is the trade you are making with a cup like this.
