Water is the one thing to keep out of this vase. It is not waterproof, and it is built for dried material: pampas grass, preserved eucalyptus, bunny tails, anything that has already done its drying somewhere else.

It is an anatomical heart vase, modeled with the chambers and vessels in relief, in white, pink or black, in a small and a large size.

Size

The small stands 5.9 in (15 cm) tall, 4.7 in (12 cm) wide and 3.1 in (8 cm) front to back, which is roughly the footprint of a coffee mug and the height of one and a half. That puts it on a bathroom shelf, a desk or a bedside table rather than in the middle of a dining table, where it would vanish behind the salt.

Good to know

Dried stems in a vase with no water need weight at the bottom or they lever the whole thing over. Drop a handful of pebbles or a little sand in before you arrange, and cut the stems so the tallest sits no higher than about twice the vase. Past that ratio a heart shaped base is not wide enough to hold them.

Care

Dust it with a soft dry brush rather than a damp cloth. Raised vessel detail collects dust in every groove, and a wet rag just moves it around inside the relief.
